SINCE 1981, OUR TEAM HAS BEEN PROVIDING EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE TO TENANTS AND BUILDING OWNERS IN THE SACRAMENTO REGION
Steve Forncrook started REF & Sons Inc. in 1981 after he recognized a void in the tenant improvement sector of the regional construction industry. More than thirty five years later, he is continuing to fulfill this need by serving the Greater Sacramento and surrounding areas. His personal philosophy is straight forward and practical: “Our reputation for integrity, quality, and project delivery is well-known and crucial for us to maintain. If we can exceed our client’s expectations regarding budget, time frame, and quality of work, I believe we have achieved our goal as leaders in the commercial construction business.”
Chad Brown currently serves as Vice President and oversees REF and Sons’ commercial building services division. Chad has been with REF for nearly two decades, and has performed in a variety of capacities over that time, including commercial building and facility operations manager, site services director, construction and project manager, and in tenant support and advisory functions. Chad’s primary role is supporting commercial building owners and tenants through REF’s operational service offerings and properly deploying and managing the resources necessary for buildings and large facilities to operate properly and efficiently. Outside of work, Chad enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and two children.
Stacy Brown came to REF and Sons in early 2017 and brought with her a wealth of knowledge acquired through her extensive experience in regional management roles at a Fortune 500 corporation. Stacy is REF’s office operations manager and has an active role in all office and back-end operations including accounting, payroll, IT, supply chain management, job scheduling, as well as supporting construction project managers and the commercial building services division. Outside of work, Stacy enjoys hiking and spending time with her husband and two children.
Scott Ferraro was raised from a young age in the Sacramento area. He graduated from Bella Vista High School and immediately began work in the construction industry. After a few years learning the trade from a residential perspective, he acquired his contractor's license in 1981 and branched out on his own. He began working alongside Steve and REF on numerous projects and finally was hired as a full time employee in 1983. Throughout this time, Scott's responsibilities include all of the typical tasks of a superintendent. He manages all aspects of the REF field crew as well as the field crews for all various subcontractors on the project. Scott is also in charge of creating the job schedules for each project and making sure that the deadline is met. Along with the field responsibilities, Scott is a key part in helping Steve and the REF team put together initial job proposals for each project. He is a very valuable asset to the REF team and with his 35 plus years of overall construction experience, there are very few things that he has not seen or done.
Susan Forncrook has been a part of REF & Sons Inc. since the very beginning and in 2011 took on an active role in the company as the Office Manager. She utilizes her organizational skills and many years of administrative experience to ensure the office is running smoothly. Outside of work Susan enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Matt Hafer was born and raised in the Sacramento area. He has been in the field of construction for twelve years. He started with REF in 2007 as a laborer. He continued to work in the field while he attended Sacramento State University. When he graduated with his B.S. in 2012, he was promoted to Project Manager. He enjoys the role of overseeing projects from start to finish, but he is not afraid to get his hands dirty when he needs to.
